ParentSquare

Community members can join ParentSquare to receive district messages.

Community Groups are for members of the wider Covington community looking to stay up to date on all community events taking place in our schools. This includes important notifications about school delays and closures!
 
Our goal is to provide members of the community with a platform that encourages greater engagement with the Covington school community while keeping you informed in a way that is convenient.
 

About Community Groups

The Covington Exempted Village School District uses ParentSquare as one of its primary communication platforms and community members are invited to join.

The district allows guests, such as members of the community who do not have students active in the district but would still like to receive district notifications including emergency closures and delays.

*Guests only receive notifications for posts sent directly to the Community Group they belong to. They will not receive district-wide, school-wide or class posts unless their specific Community Group is also selected as a recipient. 

Current staff and parents/guardians do not need to register for the ParentSquare community groups.

Community members who register will be able to:

  • Receive district communication via email, text, or app notification
  • Manage notification settings

How to Join

Go to the Covington Schools District Community Sign-up Page linked below.

  1. Enter your full name, email address, and mobile phone number.
  2. Select the group(s) you would like to join and then click “submit”
  3. Once completed, a confirmation email will be received, prompting account activation prior to being added to the selected groups and posts from the groups will show up for you automatically in ParentSquare.

ParentSquare can be accessed via parentsquare.com or the ParentSquare app, which is a free download for iOS and Android users.

Customize Your Notification Settings

One of the many benefits of creating a ParentSquare account is the ability to manage your notification settings. Users can set their preferences to either Instant or Digest for email, text messages and the app. Instant users will receive a notification the minute a message is posted. Digest users will receive one daily notification at 6 p.m. containing all messages posted that day.

Here are the instructions to update your notification settings in the ParentSquare app:

  1. Sign in to your ParentSquare account
  2. Click the triple bar on the top left corner
  3. Select “Account” on the menu on the left-hand side
  4. Click on “Notifications” on the menu in the middle
  5. Choose how and when you want to be notified

Instant and Digest notifications apply to general announcements and messages such as announcements, direct messages and reminders. In instances when the district needs to communicate an urgent message, a notification will be sent immediately, regardless of the user’s preferences.

Support resources are available to you at any time. You can always click on the question mark on the upper right-hand corner of the ParentSquare website or click on the “Help” tab (click the triple bar on the top left corner) in the ParentSquare app.
