WHAT IS FCCLA?
A. Family, Career and Community Leaders of America is a national Career and Technical Student Organization that provides personal growth, leadership development, and career preparation opportunities for students in Family and Consumer Sciences education.
Q. WHO CAN JOIN?
A. Because FCCLA is embedding in all FCS courses, all students enrolled in a FCS course are in FCCLA and participate in school-wide activities. Those students who pay State & National dues are affiliated members, and are eligible to participate in State and National FCCLA competitions and events.
Any student who has taken a course in Family and Consumer Sciences, middle school through grade 12 is eligible for active membership in an organized chapter within their school. Once the state and national dues are paid, the student will be an official affiliated member.
Q. WHAT DO YOU DO?
A. Classes plan & participate in community service, such as our annual TEDDY BEAR TOSS, the Holiday Luncheon, Operation Gratitude, and a wide variety of school spirit and community service activities.
FCCLA STAR EVENT projects are done in class & students who earn top honors may compete locally, and at State and National levels.
