FFA Chapter Excels in Soil Judging Competition

Covington, OH – The Covington-UVCC FFA Chapter showcased their exceptional skills and dedication at the recent District Urban Soil Judging Competition, securing an impressive 4th place finish. This achievement not only highlights their hard work but also qualifies them for the upcoming state competition on October 12, 2024. The talented team, comprised of top members Caiden Hollingsworth, Brock Lyons, Willow Pellman, and Hunter McMillion, demonstrated their knowledge and expertise in soil evaluation.  This included evaluating sites for potential buildings with basements, local roads, sewage systems, and landscaping needs. Other dedicated team members, Gabba Coblentz, Aubrey Hoying, and Gunner Uderman, also contributed significantly to the team’s overall performance. FFA Advisor and coach Jessica Helsinger praised the students for their commitment, stating, “The hard work they put into preparing for this competition has truly paid off. We are excited to see how they perform at the state level.”

The Covington-UVCC FFA Chapter continues to inspire the community through their achievements and dedication to agriculture. With their sights set on the state competition, the team is eager to further showcase their skills and represent their chapter with pride.
