Strategic Plan

This instructionally-focused goal will be pursued using the following strategies:

1. Investigate and pursue extended instructional and parent support programs for Covington Schools, including preschool, latchkey, and daycare services.
2. Extend student opportunities with electives and career exploration programs in the middle school and investments in STEM programming.
3. Enhance instruction with investments in personalized learning for all students that adapt to fit their individual needs and maximize opportunities for growth.

This school-community relations goal will be pursued using the following strategies:

1. Develop a formal districtwide communications plan to provide better consistency and transparency on the types and methods of communication the school district will utilize.
2. Create and distribute to all community members an annual quality profile providing an extended view of the accomplishments and offerings of Covington Schools beyond those showcased in the state report card.
3. Explore opportunities for school-community relations staffing to support these initiatives.
4. Strengthen the relationship between Covington Schools and all its residents by encouraging community use of the facilities.

This facilities goal will be pursued using the following strategies:

1. Evaluate the track and surrounding facilities at Smith Field for efficient renovation or replacement to best serve our student athletes and events.
2. Develop a Master Facilities Plan to outline the long-term use of school facilities and property for strategic investments.
3. Work with the OFCC to conduct an evaluation of the high school for planning renovations or replacement strategies.
4. Refurbish the high school's band room for improved use of the space.
5. Improve safety and traffic flow in our parking lots.
